The Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra will perform music by Ēriks Ešenvalds (25/02/2021)

On February 26, a live video from Frankfurt will be a unique opportunity to watch the concert "Theoton and the Ocean", which will feature Organ Concert "Voice of the Ocean" by Ēriks Ešenvalds. The work will be performed by the outstanding organist Iveta Apkalna, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and conductor Dima Slobodeniouk (Russia). The concert will also feature music by other contemporary composers - Jukka Tiensuu (Finland), Milica Djordjevic (Serbia) and Sebastian Fagerlund (Finland).

Our world, as well as our cultural and musical life, is facing one of the most serious crises since the end of the Second World War. Almost all orchestras, choirs, opera and concert halls, music festivals, as well as public and private music organizers have ceased operations. In particular, freelance musicians find themselves in an existential emergency: there is no income and they lose their livelihood. By holding the concert, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra shows solidarity with musicians in financial difficulties during the Corona crisis.
